Jefferson + Tracy: Wedding

The second wedding I shot this year was absolutely amazing. Tracy and Jefferson had a beautiful wedding and they were stunning together. Tracy did such an amazing job putting it all together, even despite having to get a new dress a month before the wedding (a story for another time if you want to hear it). Kate from Salon GEM and Shannon from Blush did an incredible job on Tracy’s hair and makeup. From Bellevue to the U-District to Downtown, what a story to be apart of!

What I’ve been up to…

The past month has been a really busy one. So much has been going on between family, work and play. As you can see one of the bigger things that has taken place is a fresh new look for my blog!!! My old blog with blogspot has served me well (all old posts will still be there) but as business and life are moving forward my blog needed to. There are a lot of features that my new blog will be able to do. One of the biggest reasons for moving my blog is Branding. As my brand image gets more and more refined it is crucial that everything is consistent, even my blog URL plays a key role. So welcome to the fresh look!!!

Besides giving the blog a new look I have been out shoot several engagement shoots. Stefan and Audrey were so much fun to shoot. I am excited for there wedding this summer up in beautiful Lynden WA. One fun fact about them is that they will share the same anniversary date as my wife and I.

Tracy and Jefferson were another amazing couple I got to spend time with this past month. There wedding is actually coming up this coming Saturday and I am super excited for it. We braved a beautiful, busy Saturday afternoon together at Pike’s Place Market. They even introduced me to Piroshky.

And I also shoot my first wedding of the year at the end of last month. Seth & Leanne were so much fun to be with on there special day. They had a beautiful intimate wedding.  Leanne was brave enough to got out in 40 degree weather and rain got get some of these shots below.

Of course I can’t not post about spending lots of time with my family. The boys are growing so fast and there are days where I just don’t want to do anything but be with them. It’s amazing how fast time flies. This next week we will be celebrating Ez’s 2nd birthday and Siah is already 5 months old.

A Life Celebrated

Today I write with a broken heart. My Grandfather passed away this morning after a life of 94 years. To this day he took care of my Grandma in their home, even this morning he brought her tea and juice in bed. That's the life he lived, always putting others before himself and always taking genuine interest in all. He leaves a legacy not only here in the States but over seas in his home of Amsterdam. So even among the sadness, I rejoice in knowing that he is in the place he was created to be.

To a man of great Faith who is Home now with his Almighty Creator, Thank You for the life you lived, the lessons you taught and the memories you left behind. You will never be forgotten. I love you and look forward to the day we will see each other again.

Roller-Coaster Ride

This past week was amazingly emotional for me. If you read my post below, last weekend was eventful with Ez having a temperature of 103, at one point, and the feeling of helplessness for my 22 month old. Hope grew though with Monday being MLK Day and Tuesday an amazing day in History, plus Tues. was my wife's birthday. Tuesday morning rolled around and I was excited to celebrate my wife's birthday with her and the boys as well as witness history in the works. Then the emotions go thrown an unexpected twist as I got news that a friend and boss for many years lost his brother unexpectedly that morning, at the age of 47. I don't know how to put it into words the feeling I was going through; joy and pain and excitement. How can all three of those be felt at one time.

Thursday I took the family for a day trip to Portland for yet another emotional ride. Katey's grandma had past away last week and we went down for the memorial service. Being with extended family was what we needed. The memorial service was amazing and encouraging to know the peace of our Savior rest right here with us. Even in a time of mourning we could rejoice in the life Grandma had lived and the memories she left us.

So today starts a new week of hopefully more joy then pain, more laughs then tears.
